Each fall, Common Ground School holds an annual Feast from the Fields – a celebration of community, sustainability, and the harvest season. At this time an individual or institution that has contributed significantly to New Haven and to Common Ground is honored. We are pleased to announce that the Garden Club of New Haven is to be recognized this year on September 26th as a ‘Local Environmental Hero’. Joel Tolman, the Director of Development and Community Engagement for Common Ground, said that “the Garden Club has certainly left a positive mark on Common Ground over the last several years , and we admire the other projects you’ve taken on: saving American Elms, hosting great events, partnering with lots of different organizations, etc.” .
