With great pleasure we announce that Robin DuBois won the Katherine B. Pitney Award for Horticulture. Robin is a talented horiculturalist and a devotee of propagation. Her nurturance of ferns, in particular a Maidenhair fern which she has maintained for over a quarter of a century, is impressive. Robin was presented with the award at the October General Meeting by Kate Schmidt, the GCA Zone II Horticulture chairman and a member of the Sasqua Garden Club.
The Katherine B. Pitney Award is awarded by the Sasqua Garden Club. They created a Zone II Horticultural Award in memory of Katherine B Pitney, a former president of their club who was highly regarded for her expertise and love of growing and propagating house plants. Each Zone II club nominates a member eligible for the award, and our member, Robin Dubois, won! We congratulate her on a award well deserved.
