What exactly is GCA? A non-profit national organization comprised of over 17,000 members of GCA clubs who dedicate their energies and expertise to projects in their communities around the country. Founded in 1913, The Garden Club of America is a recognized national leader in the fields of horticulture, conservation, civic improvement and historic preservation. The Garden Club of New Haven joined GCA in 1952.

What is Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut? A non-profit organization made up of 7,561 individual members, 143 clubs and 16 affiliate clubs who dedicate their energies for the protection and conservation of our natural resources, the preservation of our heritage and the promotion of civic beauty.
The Garden Club of New Haven was a founding member of the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut in 1929.
Federated Garden clubs of Connecticut is a part of National Garden Clubs, which is the largest gardening organization in the world, comprising nearly 250,000 members from the USA and abroad.

Do you know what contributions your club has made to our community over the years? Here are just a few of the worthy causes:
the New Haven Green, Edgerton Park, Habitat for Humanity, the Urban Resources Initiative, Long Wharf Nature Preserve, Ronald McDonald House, New Haven Colony Historical Society, Eli Whitney Museum, Fort Nathan Hale, Pardee Rose Garden, Yale New Haven Children's Hospital, New Haven Free Public Library, the Neighborhood Music School, Common Ground School, Nursing Homes throughout the community and much more.

let us not forget NHPS King?Robinson...2 years, flower arranging, 1 year 'flower philantrhopy' as children re-potted plants and then found someone in their neighborhood in need to give the plant to!
