What a wonderful year for Debbie and me! We truly thank all of the members for your commitment to the Garden Club of New Haven.
As our first year draws to an end, we can not help but reflect on the high level of support our members have given to us and the Garden Club. In every instance our members have risen to the occasion. Early this year we decided that we needed to begin the process of planning for the Zone II meeting in 2011. Part of this process was raising the necessary funds and already a significant portion of the funding has been raised thanks to a fabulous flower show held in April. Our members supported the Face of Connecticut Campaign which did pass but without funding; this is an important first step. The Phelps Triangle renovation is underway; a landscape designer has been chosen and the garden will be planted in June. The Trees on the Green committee planted a maple on the green and two Chinese elms at the New Haven Museum. Visiting gardens has some exciting plans for us in June and the fall. We are dedicating the Wagner Garden in May. The Garden History committee has made great strides toward beginning the process of documenting gardens. Each and every member has contributed to our successes this year.
We especially thank those members of the board whose term of office will expire this June for the work you have done on behalf of the Garden Club of New Haven.
