Presidents' Letter- November

The year has turned its circle,
The seasons come and go.
The harvest all is gathered in
And chilly north winds blow.

Orchards have shared their treasures,
The fields, their yellow grain,
So open wide the doorway-
Thanksgiving comes again.

Old Rhyme

As gardeners our year has indeed turned its circle as we have now put our gardens to bed and are waiting for spring so that the process can begin again. However, the Garden Club has just begun its circle of events for this year. Those of you who missed the last two meetings truly missed fabulous speakers in Marge Schnerr speaking about dahlias and Antonia Adezio, President, The Garden Conservancy, speaking about the gardens of The Garden Conservancy and sharing personal stories about their owners.

We are looking forward to our annual Christmas workshop on Monday December 15 at the Edgerton Carriage House. Members are reminded to bring greens and Christmas treats to be sold by Ways and Means. For those of us who have friends and family at the local nursing homes where we take our Christmas arrangements, we know how much these are appreciated. We hope to see everyone there for the workshop and Holiday party.
Our best wishes to all for a wonderful Thanksgiving.
