CONSERVATION NOTES

From the Garden Club of America

  1. We invite you to take a look at the latest edition of Conservation Watch, now posted on the GCA website. The “Summer ’09” includes a feature about the Center for Plant Conservation. Other articles teach us about the smart grid for electricity transmission which is so vitally needed in our country, what to be aware of in our cosmetic products, how to make our communities “greener,” the latest on the scourge of billboards in the U.S., and what truly green buildings are like. In addition, you will find helpful hints, club projects across the country, and conservation book reviews. You may print out copies to distribute or pass the link to your e-mail distribution lists. Go to http://www.gcamerica.org under membersonly/conwatchnewsletter/conwatch_summer_ot.pdf
  2. The GCA Current legislative Update #5---August 18th, 2009, is posted on the GCA website www.gcamerica.org, under Committees/National Affairs and Legislation. It focuses on climate change and urges you to contact your senators.
