From “The Blooming Salisburys” Committee
Worcester Historical Museum is planning 2009 autumn and holiday festivities at the Salisbury Mansions to celebrate the 25thanniversary of its restoration as Worcester’s only historic house museum. There are three significant historical themes relating to either the Mansion or the Museum, and we are honoring each one with floral interpretations and arrangements.
Dates as follows:
October 8-11 – “Hot Stuff” - Nine fireplaces, a pair of wall-mounted fire buckets with pedestal below, as well as mantels are available for decoration on a first-come, first-served basis for designer’s choice. Set up date is October 8th.
November 12-15 – “Thanks Giving” - Salisbury family portraits throughout the Mansion will be complimented with flowers on a pedestal. Set up date is November 12th.
December 17-20 – “Home for the Holidays” - Furniture will be the focus with floral interpretations of the piece(s) of your choice in a “Flora in Winter/Art in Bloom” style of display. Pedestals will be supplied. There will also be a single dining table set with period china and chairs requiring a decorative unit. All available on a first-come, first-served basis. Set up date is December 17th.
