Photography Committee

The photography committee is eager to start generating some activities for the club and provide an outlet for all of you who enjoy both viewing and shooting photographs. Some ideas we have under consideration are:

  • A photo shoot/garden walk with a professional

Photographer

  • A monthly photo showcase of your work on our blog
  • Shooting and submitting images to flower shows
  • Creation of a photo archive
    • Annual CD of GCNH events
    • Gather photos from years gone by
  • A garden journal workshop

Photography is a new committee and we will be developing these ideas and others that you may have as we hear from members.

To create our archive, we’d like to ask any of you who have taken photos this year of any garden club activities – visiting gardens, flower arranging workshops, Christmas arranging, Phelps clean up days etc.- to share your photos with us. With your help, we can begin to build the club’s photo archive and visually tell the story of our club, publicize our club, and have a record for posterity. I extend a special request to those of you who have been in the club for many years. Please take a look through your photo collections of yester-year for images you can share with us of the people, gardens, activities and events that have contributed to the wealth of our club’s history. This archive will also allow us to currently showcase the talents and activities of our many gifted members in the fine work that we do both in house and in the community. If you have an interest in the subject of photography, either as a means of communication or as an artistic medium, as well as ways in which photography can enrich your garden club experience, WE WELCOME YOU TO JOIN US at a meeting on Thursday, March 4th at 1:00 immediately following the board meeting at the Ag. station. Please RSVP attendance plans to heyamo@snet.net. If you are unable to attend but have ideas to share with the committee, please take a moment to jot them in an email to me at heyamo@snet.net

We look forward to seeing you and hearing from you as we work toward adding the photography committee to the wealth of excellent committees in our fine club.

Sincerely,

Amy Estabrook, Chair, Photography Committee
