CALENDAR OF EVENTS – MAY/JUNE 2010

May 19, 2010 – RE-SCHEDULED K1 WORKSHOP, “Hogarth Curve” Noon-2pm, Lower Level Conference Room of the Jenkins Building at CT AG Station. Payment in the form of a check for $30, should be made out to Lisa Lovejoy, and is due by Friday, May 14^th.

June 2, 2010 – MAKE-UP DAY for any K1 WORKSHOPS Missed, Noon-2pm, Lower Level Conference Room of the Jenkins Building at CT AG Station. Please advise Lisa Lovejoy of the floral design you will need to make up. Anyone attending this workshop is responsible for bringing a container and plant material as suited to the floral design they will be doing.

June 17, 2010 – FLORAL DESIGN DEMONSTRATION: “A Bouquet of Memories from the Met.” Master Floral Designer Chris Giftos. Location: The Litchfield Inn. Time: 2pm. Cost: $40 per person for presentation and refreshments; $75 per person for Prime Sponsor Seating. Reservations: Joan Burgess 860-567-2270 or joangyorburgess@gmail.com

June 25, 2010 – TRANSPORTATION OPPORTUNITY: Branford Garden Club invites you and guests to the Newport Flower Show! Date: Friday, June 25^th. Total Trip Time: 8am-6pm. Cost: Option #1 is $110 and includes bus trip, luncheon, and lecture by Marie Francoise Deprez, and ticket into the show. Option #2 is $75 and includes bus, lecture only (lunch on your own), and ticket into the show. SPACE IS LIMITED!! June 25-27, 2010 – NEWPORT FLOWER SHOW, “A Gardening Safari – Celebrating the Flora and Fauna of Africa.”

October 14-15, 2010 – HORTULUS, “Interiors – A GCA Flower Show.” Location: Christ Church Parish Hall, 254 East Putnam Avenue, Greenwich, CT 06830. Dates/Time: Open to the Public Oct. 14 from 10am-4pm; Oct. 15 from 10am-2pm.

PLAN NOW FOR THE WAFA SHOW IN JUNE 2011!

June 15-19, 2011 – World Association of Flower Arrangers (WAFA) 10^th WORLD FLOWER SHOW!! “This Glorious Earth.” Over 600 Floral designs from over 30 countries will be displayed. This is the FIRST TIME that WAFA has had a show in the United States and I’m sure it will be a spectacular event!
