President's Letter

Dear Members,
While vacationing down here in North Carolina I received the sad news that we have lost another member, Bobbie Nelson. All who knew Bobbie loved her. She was a very caring and giving person and the garden club meant so much to her. As a matter of interest, Bobbie was someone who was particularly friendly and welcoming to me when I was a new member. She went out of her way to always say hello and to add a friendly word. It seems to me that we always remember those people who take the time to make us feel comfortable in new situations. We are fortunate to have so many new members with promises of more in June. They will need friendly faces and guidence as they become acclimated to our many varied and busy garden club activities. Please follow the example set by Bobbie Nelson and go out of your way to introduce yourself, to ask questions and find out about them and to help them love our club as much as we love it. Be the one who stands out to them as that welcoming member. Love, Betsy
