Visiting Gardens
…through the GCA gates less traveled…
SEATTLE and VANCOUVER ISLAND
Cultivating Eden: the Magical Gardens of the Pacific Northwest
Who: All GCA travelers…Every GCA member can bring one friend or spouse!
When: May 6-12, 2009
Where: As the Pacific Northwest garden writer Ann Lovejoy writes, “Welcome to
paradise! Our mild winters and prolonged springs, gentle summers and lingering autumn make
gardening here especially rewarding.”
Join fellow GCA friends as we begin our Pacific
Northwest journey in Seattle, Washington. The Seattle GC is opening doors and garden gates
other travelers do not get to experience. We will spend 4 days in the Seattle and Bainbridge
Island areas staying in a never to be forgotten hotel on piers on the Puget Sound.
Then off, by ferry we will go to Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.. Home to the
historic capital city of Victoria, no trip to this island would be complete without visiting this
jewel which is famous for both its historic buildings, accommodations and bustling inner
harbor. Vancouver Island is an exciting region rich in First Nations history and culture, wine
and agri-tourism, wildlife watching and a plethora of outdoor activities including fishing, whale
watching and golf.
How: If you would like to receive our itinerary once complete, then sign up for our
‘Pacific Northwest Interest List’. Send us your email address or fax number along with your
name, home address, phone number and club. An email address or fax number is required!
Please write ‘Pacific Northwest Interest List’ on the Subject line. By being on the Pacific
Northwest Interest List, you will receive the itinerary before the general GCA membership.
