Letter From the Presidents- February

Dear Members,

Like the rhythm of the seasons, the activities of the garden club are slowly awakening from a winter’s nap and preparing for springtime. We welcome the energy and eagerly anticipate all that lies ahead! We especially look forward to all of these wonderful events:

· Seeing the new trees that will be planted on the Green and in front of the Historical Society
· Touring the Neighborhood Music School to see the new Wagner Garden
· Planting spring flowers at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital
· Giving gardening tools to Habitat for Humanity home owners
· Learning about the proposed plans for the renovation of Phelps Triangle
· Visiting some important gardens in Connecticut and enjoying the beautiful gardens of
fellow-members
· Hearing the decision about which wonderful garden the club will document for the
Smithsonian
· Creating flower arrangements
· Making container gardens
· Exhibiting in our in-house flower, horticulture and photography shows
· Participating in GCA and Federated shows and meetings
· Enjoying one another’s company at our festive cocktail party and flower show
· Learning about the projects being planned for civic involvement and conservation
· Honoring and appreciating our especially hard-working members
· Welcoming new members

Billie and I hope to see you on March 3rd at 7:00 for our evening general meeting. (N.B.—7:00 p.m.) Please come and bring your spouse or a friend and enjoy good company, delicious homemade desserts and coffee, creative design exhibits provided by Designing Women, a special short talk about bees, and a fascinating program about birds in Connecticut.

Sincerely,
Debbie
