The Flora Doras

Many have no doubt heard from the Treasurer from time to time that Flora Dora made such and such money for the club. What, you might ask are or is Flora Dora? Well first of all it was a Broadway show many years ago and there was a famous drink called, The Flora Dora. Our beloved member Joy Nichols had the idea some years ago of forming a group of flower arrangers from the club who would do occasional arrangements for hire. They called themselves, The Flora Doras for obvious reasons. Over the years, they have decorated wedding and funeral receptions, churches and diner parties and in most recent years the tables for an annual Christmas dance held at the New Haven Lawn Club. The members of this group are: Betsy Nininger, Chairman. Barclay Smith, Nancy Ahlstrom, Joy Nichols, Ann Burrow, Annemarie Gilbert, Betty Greene, Nancy Duble, Jeanie Kashgarian,Betsy Gentry,Vickie Arkins and Debbie Edwards. They will be happy to do a table arrangement for your next party or any other type of arrangement you might require. The arrangement you will have is far superior to any you can buy ready made and you will be contributing to the Garden Club at the same time.
