It's Nancy Duble!
Nancy Stead Duble joined the Garden Club in 1956, making her the longest serving active member. She believes that she owes her acceptance as a member to a wheelbarrow. Two interviewers came to her house to make sure she was eligible and were impressed by the wheelbarrow on her front lawn, concluding that she was a gardener. Nancy confesses that the wheelbarrow was probably used to cart around children, not plants, and that her Garden Club focus has been flower design, not horticulture. She has worked in numerous positions and on many different committees in the Garden Club. She especially enjoys the lectures and the flower arranging workshops.
Nancy is on the board of the Creative Arts Workshop, and has helped to run its annual Celebration of American Crafts for many years. She appreciates all art, and loves color, expressing herself artistically in home decorating.
