Debby is working on a large pool garden (including vegetables) at her home in Woodbridge, free from the deer that ruined her vegetable garden. She especially enjoys winter gardening in her greenhouse, where she grows orchids, passionflowers and “whatever is exciting and fun.” She loves the civic work of the Garden Club, and now that her kids are older, she has time to be a member. She and her family are active in the Connecticut Farmland Trust. She encourages everyone who would appreciate “amazing food” to attend the Trust’s annual Celebration of Connecticut Farms, which was hosted in 2006 at her husband’s family dairy farm in Sharon (run, she emphasizes, by a woman farmer who leases it from the family). Debby also serves on the board of the Creative Arts Workshop.
