Members of the Garden Club of New Haven and business neighbors of Phelps Triangle officially “opened” the newly renovated Phelps Triangle on the afternoon of Thursday, October 16. The ribbon was cut by the committee (Cordalie Benoit, Karen Downer-Doyle, Barclay Smith, Debbie Moore, Louise Carter and Billie Ladd) who then invited guests into the Triangle to enjoy the newly planted garden and refreshments. Joining us was Amy Sampson, designer of the garden. Debbie Edwards spoke about the history of Phelps Triangle as a primary project of the Garden Club of New Haven since 1951 and Billie Ladd thanked the committee for their work over the past year and Anna Glen Vietor and Hortie Wilson for their generous gifts that made this renovation possible.
