It is with great sadness that we report the death of our longtime member and former president, Betsy Babbitt. She died on January 16, 2009.
Betsy was a member for forty years, joining the club in 1969. She served as president from 1987 until 1989 and was the recipient of the Waterman Bowl in 1994, our club's highest honor. Betsy and Ted's home on Dogwood Road in North Haven was a welcoming place for garden club activities.
Betsy was an active house plant and outdoor gardener. She had a good memory of garden club activities and was always helpful with good suggestions and advice.
In her obituary, her family suggested that friends make contributions to the Garden Club of New Haven in Betsy's memory
