Save the date! Dr. Kathryn Kennedy to Speak on April 1st
Thanks to the hard work and generosity of Jody Bush, The Garden Club of New Haven and The Hixon Center for Urban Forestry at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies will co-sponsor a special program on April 1st. The event will be free and open to the public, and there may be a special tour of the building for garden club members before the talk. As soon as we know about the tour, we will let you know. You will not want to miss this program, so mark you calendar now! Parking is scarce, so plan to carpool.

Date: April 1, 2009
Time: 5:00
Place: Kroon Hall (The new green building at Yale)
The Burke Auditorium
195 Prospect Street
Featuring: Dr. Kathryn Kennedy
President and Executive Director of the Center for Plant Conservation
Missouri Botanical Garden, St. Louis, Missouri
Topic: "Recovering America's Vanishing Flora"

The Center for Plant Conservation (CPC), founded in 1984, is dedicated solely to preventing the extinction of U.S. native plants. It was one of the first organizations created to meet this need and is comprised of a network of 36 leading botanic institutions. Dr. Kennedy was the recipient of GCA's highest conservation award last year at the Annual Meeting. If you would like to learn more about the CPC, go to the website centerforplantconservation.org
